Adelaide welcomes a bold new player in streetwear fashion, Van Brussel, to Ebenezer Place.

Van Brussel is set to redefine the Australian streetwear scene offering customers an immersive retail experience that reflects the brand’s unique aesthetic.

The brand bridges the boldness of urban-centric style with the precision of slouchy tailoring. It will be considered streetwear meets thoughtful Australian-made craftsmanship.

With an ethos built on quality, local manufacturing, sustainability, and intelligent design, the debut capsule collection offers a fresh, contemporary take on streetwear as we know it today.

Every piece is packed with unique points of difference and a rebellious sense of cool. Proudly made in Australia in small production runs, most garments feature 100% natural fibres, such as locally produced denim and designer deadstock wool suiting.

The result? Timeless, high-quality pieces that embrace a slow-fashion ethos, responsible manufacturing, waste reduction, and longevity.

At their retail location, sleek industrial display rails will showcase the debut Autumn/Winter collection, alongside a curated mix of mid-century, antique, and contemporary furnishings. But it’s the unexpected details that will transport visitors into an elevated world – bowls of oranges, metallic vintage telephones, bouquets of dried wheat, stacks of inspiring books, thoughtfully curated playlists, and mood lighting.

The vibrant Ebenezer Place, location is the perfect home for Van Brussel, but there will be an ecommerce platform coming that will allow people to shop all around the world says founder Rachel Van Brussel.

“VAN BRUSSEL isn’t driven by fleeting trends.

“Our focus is on timeless design, thoughtful details, and a genuine commitment to sustainability. Each piece is bold and distinctive yet built to last—effortlessly blending statement style with everyday wearability,” Van Brussel says.

Founder of the brand, Rachel Van Brussel’s journey into fashion was anything but conventional with her design aesthetic and vision for VAN BRUSSEL being shaped by years spent in Milan, London, Paris, and Melbourne.

Originally planning to study jazz at the Adelaide Conservatorium, she pivoted toward fashion after being immersed in Milan’s iconic design culture at just 18.

Over the years, Rachel has worked in design, production, and styling, collaborating with brands such as Katya Komarova, Toast Society, Simone Perele, Sans Beast, House of Rolfe, and Rose Forde.

With VAN BRUSSEL, she brings this international experience home to create a streetwear label unlike any other in Australia.

While the immediate focus is a successful Adelaide launch, Rachel’s long-term vision includes growing the brand into a globally recognised name, expanding into new categories, collaborations, and cutting-edge design techniques.
