The team behind one of Adelaide’s favourite modern Greek diners is heading west, with Dino’s set to open a new all-day venue on Henley Beach Road, adding to its venue portfolio.
Taking over a prominent Lockleys site, the previous home of Adam Swanson’s eatery Cheeky Chook Eats, the new venue marks the second location for the hospitality brand founded by Andrew Papadakis and Giuseppe Nasti.
While the original Hindley Street venue has become known for its fast-paced city energy and Greek street food-inspired menu, the Lockley’s outpost has been designed to offer a broader dining experience from morning through to night.
Think D’Angelo coffee and breakfast in the morning, long lunches over shared plates and wine, afternoon cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired dinners, designed for lingering.
“The city venue is built around office workers, tourists and people wanting something quick and high quality. This space gives us the opportunity to create a neighbourhood venue where people can settle in, catch up with friends, bring the family or stay for another glass of wine. It’s still unmistakably Dino’s, but the format is different.
“There are dishes we’ve always wanted to put on a menu but simply couldn’t make work in a fast-paced CBD environment. Here, we can create a menu that encourages people to stay longer, share more and enjoy the venue in its full capacity,” Mr Papadakis said.
The larger suburban footprint has allowed the team to expand the menu well beyond the confines of a fast-casual city diner.
Alongside Dino’s signature house-made offerings, guests can expect Mediterranean-inspired pasta dishes, generous share platters and seasonal specials that showcase the full capability of the kitchen team.
The drinks offering includes a curated list of Greek and South Australian wines, Greek beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic options designed to complement the Mediterranean menu.
Inside, the venue continues the contemporary aesthetic Dino’s has become known for, with rendered walls, warm textures and Mediterranean-inspired detailing creating a relaxed, coastal feel that sits comfortably within the western suburbs.
Joining the business as partner is chef Joseph Vaccaro, whose hospitality career spans more than 35 years across Adelaide venues including Chicco Palms and The Greek on Halifax.
For Vaccaro, the opening represents an opportunity to return to the hands-on style of hospitality that first drew him to the industry.
“What excites me about this project is being involved in every aspect of the experience. Hospitality is about people, and creating a venue that becomes part of a community is something really special.
“We’re not changing what Dino’s is. We’re simply creating a version of it that suits the west. The quality, value and hospitality people know us for will always come first,” Mr Vaccaro said.
While the format may be evolving, the team is clear on one thing: the heart of Dino’s remains unchanged. Dino’s Henley Beach Road is expected to officially open in July 2026.
