Perched above Adelaide with sweeping views and a wraparound veranda, this Teringie retreat started as a ‘forever home’ – and now it’s ready to welcome guests as an unforgettable Airbnb stay.
From a timber-lined balcony at 73 Woodland Way, Teringie, the clouds roll in low and slow, swallowing the valley below. Somewhere in the distance, city lights twinkle through the mist, fleeting, then gone. Moments like this are part of daily life here. Equal parts magical and grounding.
That ability to observe, to slow down and just watch, is what makes this place feel magical. But in truth, it’s just a 10-minute drive from the heart of Adelaide.
The three-bedroom home sits high on a 2101-square-metre block, with uninterrupted views stretching from Glenelg to Ardrossan.
Koalas wander through the treetops and kangaroos are known to graze nearby. The scent of eucalyptus carries on the breeze and yet the city is always within arm’s reach.

The home found its way into the lives of a new couple, looking for a space to build something lasting.
The house has a layered history. Built in the 1970s, it was once owned by two lawyers who opened up the floorplan and modernised the layout. However, under another family a four year gentle transformation occurred which saw the property receive a freshened kitchen, bedrooms and soft updates throughout.
The heart of the home is an open-plan living area, wrapped in windows and spilling out to a wide veranda.
In winter, the slow-combustion fire becomes the centrepiece as it flickers against clouded glass as fog rolls in and the Hills turn cinematic and in summer, the outdoor area opens up to a heated spa and pool, with views that shimmer through gum trees.
Nature walks are nearby, as is Penfolds Magill Estate and It’s the kind of place you don’t just visit — you remember.
