If you’ve ever dreamt of pausing your day for a moment of colour, creativity, and calm, Crafternoon Co has the answer and it’s covered in glitter, pom poms, and beautifully packaged craft kits.

Launching in a charming little strip in Malvern, Crafternoon Co. is more than just a studio, it’s a craft culture revolution.

Designed for kids, grown-ups, and every imagination in between, this bright, joy-filled new business brings craft kits, parties, workshops and walk-in creativity sessions to Adelaide, both in-store and online.

For founder Alexis Teasdale, this idea has been quietly bubbling away for years.

“I’ve been doing craft-based work for a long time, including freelance craft projects for Officeworks, producing styling and craft shoots over the last six years.”

“I’ve always loved a “crafternoon”. And as a mum of three, I’ve seen every kind of kids party, school holiday workshop and creative idea going. I’ve been planning this for years, I just needed the right space, ” Mrs Teasdale said.

She found the perfect spot after spotting a sign in the window, tucked among a hair salon and two buzzing cafes.

The space is the perfect blank canvas, with room for walk-in crafting tables, retail shelving, and a few creative zones and it is set to become Adelaide’s newest hub for mindful making.

During the week, the studio will open its doors to makers, parents and carers (yes, you can bring your coffee in from next door) and kids, offering casual craft sessions using plaster shapes, creative tools, and safe, age-appropriate materials.

Weekends are all about birthday parties and themed workshops, with grown up craft nights coming soon too.

Online, Crafternoon Co. is gearing up to launch a colourful collection of DIY kits for tweens, teens and grown-ups. These aren’t your average craft kits, we’re talking beautifully branded Craft Tackle Boxes, affectionately known as “Crackle Boxes” with age-suited instructions, sunglasses-decorating kits, cute merch, and even Hype Jars filled with uplifting messages for all ages.

“There’s a big focus on mixing and matching as most of our offering is suitable from little ones right up to adults. Craft isn’t just for kids.

“And it’s important to me that it’s fun and safe. I want the instructions to clearly show what suits the age group you’re buying for.

“It’s funny, Crafternoon Co. is really a combination of all my career experience thus far. Writing, styling, making, creating and presenting.

“It’s all rolled into something physical that people can experience and enjoy,” Mrs Teasdale said.

While her focus is on opening the Malvern studio and getting kids’ parties and workshops running smoothly, Alexis is already thinking big. The dream doesn’t stop with one location.

And just like that, a creative spark becomes a full-blown firework and it’s beautifully wrapped in pastel tissue, with a sprinkle of sequins on top.
