The Adelaide bar scene is set to welcome a sophisticated and new addition to the East End with the opening of Septimus House of Cheese and Wine.
The highly anticipated Grenfell Street venue promises to bring a vibrant cheese and wine experience to the heart of the bustling Adelaide CBD.
Septimus has been designed with a perfect balance of contemporary style and timeless charm with lilac walls, paired with Tasmanian oak cabinetry, green marble benchtops, and delicate French curtains hanging beneath the original stained glass windows, creating an inviting ambiance for locals and visitors.
The venue’s atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with an elevated edge that reflects Adelaide’s evolving entertainment culture with the venue already exhibiting artists like Donovan Christie and showcasing an array of vinyls that makes it a dynamic hub for creativity and connection.
At the heart of Septimus is a carefully curated wine list and a standout seven cheese and wine pairing as its signature experience, that will be designed to delight wine and cheese lovers alike.
Visitors will be able to tantalise their taste buds with French cheese and will be in expert hands as they experience a curated wine list that includes both French vintages and wines from a variety of vineyards across South Australia.
Septimus will have seating available across two levels and will cater for up to 50 patrons. The venue has been thoughtfully restored, preserving the building’s character while adding a contemporary touch as it is located on the outskirts of the historic Adelaide Fruit and Produce Exchange.
Ian Coker is the man behind Septimus and is looking forward to sharing the experience with Adelaide, establishing the venue as a go-to destination for patrons to enjoy an assortment of fantastic cheese and wine.
“We are looking forward to introducing Septimus to the Adelaide community as our goal was to create a space where people can come together to enjoy an enjoyable cultural experience in the heart of the city.
“Our venue is a celebration of culture right from the curated vintages appearing on our wine and cheese list all the way through to our collection of art and music.
“This is the start of an exciting hospitality journey for our team and it combines our love for all local wine with our passion for French vintages and cheeses.
“I have worked closely with a range of wineries at a local and international level and it is a privilege to celebrate and unite them under one roof at Septimus.
“This dream has been 10 years in the making and this is not all that is in the pipeline for our team. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink or settling in for one of our experiences, we promise that Septimus is equal parts sophisticated and welcoming,” Mr Coker said.
Septimus has an impressive array of wines with some being priced at $900 per bottle. The expansive array of wines is a reflection of the wine collection that Mr Coker has accumulated over the course of his years.
