After building one of Adelaide’s most recognised cold-pressed juice brands from her home kitchen, Juice Institute founder Gabrielle Tyler is closing one chapter and making room for another.
Tyler launched Juice Institute in 2018, driven by her passion for health, wellness and plant-based nutrition. Her goal was simple: to make nutritious choices more convenient for busy people through high-quality cold-pressed juices designed to support everyday wellbeing.
At the time, she identified a gap in the South Australian market. What began as a small home-based operation quickly developed into a much-loved local brand, achieving milestones Tyler could scarcely have imagined at the outset.
During its eight years in business, Juice Institute handcrafted more than one million bottles of juice, supported thousands of customers and donated the equivalent of more than 150,000 meals through Foodbank SA. The company also pioneered Australia’s first Freeze & Ship cold-pressed juice service, allowing its products to reach customers well beyond Adelaide.
While the closure of Juice Institute marks the end of the business in its current form, an important part of its legacy will continue through another trusted South Australian name.
Tony & Mark’s has purchased Juice Institute’s commercial juice press and will take over the juice range and recipes previously developed for its stores. Tyler will support the handover and train the Tony & Mark’s team, helping ensure the quality, knowledge and care refined over many years are carried forward.
For Tyler, knowing the products will remain available to South Australian customers brings a sense of comfort and pride.
The partnership brings together Juice Institute’s carefully developed recipes and Tony & Mark’s established retail network, loyal customer base and longstanding reputation for fresh produce and quality food. Tyler believes this combination places the range in a strong position to grow and reach even more customers.
Personally, she is approaching the transition as an opportunity to pause after eight demanding years of entrepreneurship.
Building a business requires resilience, courage and considerable personal sacrifice. Although Tyler loved creating and growing Juice Institute, she is now looking forward to spending more time with her family and prioritising her own health and wellbeing.
Her passion for wellness, consumer behaviour and brand development remains as strong as ever, leaving the door open for future professional opportunities.
Tyler also feels increasingly drawn to supporting women navigating the competing demands of business, careers, family and personal life. Having experienced that pressure firsthand, she hopes her next venture may create meaningful connection, practical support and encouragement for other women.
Championing South Australian businesses will remain another important part of her future. Tyler understands the determination required to build something from the ground up and believes small businesses are vital to the communities they serve.
Although saying goodbye to Juice Institute is emotional, Tyler views the journey as an extraordinary success rather than an ending.
Her experience has reshaped how she defines achievement. Success, she says, is not only about constant growth. Sometimes, it is about recognising when it is time to evolve, letting go with pride and having the courage to embrace what comes next.
After more than one million bottles, thousands of customers and an enduring contribution to South Australia’s wellness community, Tyler’s next chapter is only just beginning.
